Kriya - Kreative Sound

Productions

Kriya does not confine itself to just one kind of music. Our work is primarily in the following major themes:

1. Educational - especially on aspects like religion, culture and traditions for young people

2. Devotional

3. Classical

4. Film Music Rights

5. Healing music which would include music and prayers that have an effect on health and everyday lives

6. Easy & light listening
( including film, pop and avant-garde music )

Mahavishnu

Kriya’s first audio production,"Mahavishnu", as part of the "Heritage for young people" Series has been a great success with record sales of 12000 cassettes within the first month itself.

“Mahavishnu” was an attempt to provide a basic insight to youngsters about the legends of Mahavishnu, with excerpts from prominent shlokas & chants, a glimpse of the festivals & legends surrounding Mahavishnu and the saints & devotees of the Vaishnavite tradition. We also created a little book containing the chants, shlokas & musical pieces with the meaning, for easy learning.

The renowned playback artiste Srinivas and eminent classical musician Bombay S. Jayashri had lent their voices to this production, enhancing immensely the richness of the compositions.

Andavan, Atma, Anmeegam

The second release of Kriya, Andavan, Atma, Anmeegam, is a collection of Tamil devotional music with a totally youthful and refreshingly innovative treatment to the pieces to enhance the ability of the younger sections of the population to relate to devotional music.

Eminent artistes like Unnikrishnan, Nityashree, Anuradha Sriram, Srinivas, Sujatha and Harini have participated in this production and Rajnikanth, the Superstar of Tamil cinema, has given a commentary on spirituality and an endorsement to the album, a very unique achievement indeed. This album had a launch volume of 22000, a record of sorts for a devotional album.

Mahaakavi

Mahaakavi was another album which combined the old and new.

Srikanth, a Software Engineer from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, very tastefully set Subramaniyam Bharathi’s poems to the new tunes.

S.P. Balasubramaniam, Sujatha, Harish Raghavendra, Srinivas and Kansas Raja feature in this album which Subramaniyam Bharathi himself might have been proud of.

Dhanavriddhi

This is a very unique collection of traditional Tamil prayers and songs which have the effect of enhancing prosperity, bringing about success at work and warding off negative energies at the workplace.

Set to a very lively beat, it features the famous Swarnakarshana Bhairava stuti, Vyaapaara mantra, and the Kanakadhara stotram in Tamil as well as other songs that should ideally be played each morning at the workplace or business establishment.

Veeramani Kannan, a well known music director in the genre of Tamil Devotional music has composed the score and the popular young singing star Karthik as well as Gopika Poornima have rendered the songs.

Abhayam Abhayam Ayyappa

This is a collection of Tamil devotional songs on Ayyappa.
